Keweenaw Green-Banded Copper Inclusion Agate
The agates on the left display beautiful green banding intertwined with copper inclusions, creating a striking contrast between the earthy reddish-brown body of the agate, translucent gray and green areas, and the darker copper-bearing features.
The natural banding follows the original growth patterns of the agate, producing flowing lines and concentric structures that vary from stone to stone. Within those bands are areas of copper mineralization that give the stones an unmistakable Keweenaw character.
The green tones are especially distinctive against the surrounding iron-rich and reddish agate material. Each face reveals a slightly different arrangement of bands and inclusions, making the two stones complementary rather than perfectly identical.
These are not manufactured patterns — they are the result of natural mineral deposition and alteration within the volcanic rock, preserved and revealed when the stones were carefully cut through the center.
