Keweenaw Copper Inclusion Eye Agate with Amethyst Eye
The second set is a particularly distinctive copper inclusion eye agate, featuring naturally formed circular and concentric patterns that create an unmistakable eye-like appearance.
At the center of the most prominent eye is a beautiful amethyst inclusion, adding a purple crystalline focal point to the otherwise earthy copper, red, gray, and green coloration. Surrounding the eye are layers of agate banding that radiate outward in curved and concentric patterns.
Subtle green banding is also present throughout the material, adding another layer of color and complexity. The copper-bearing areas provide darker, metallic-looking accents that contrast with the lighter agate bands and the purple amethyst center.
Because the stones were sliced directly through the center, the cut faces expose the internal structure of the agate in a way that cannot be appreciated from the exterior of the original stone. The result is a natural geological portrait — an ancient volcanic rock revealing layers of mineral growth, copper mineralization, and crystalline development.
